“When I retired I had constant aches and pains all over my body. In particular, my knees really hurt and I had some pain in my shoulder. I found simple tasks like climbing stairs painful, and bending over and getting up off the floor was difficult because of the extra bodyweight. I started working out with Laura because I wanted to lose 25 lbs, and build muscle. I wasn’t making much progress on my own. Cardiovascular disease runs in the family so it was important to lose weight as a preventive health measure as well. Laura took the time to explain and teach me how to perform exercises with proper technique. She taught me different exercises using equipment that I had never used before like free weights. She also helped me become more aware of my food intake, and educated me on nutrition.So far working with Laura I lost 27 lbs. I am more flexible and have better range of motion in my joints. I don’t have pain in my knees anymore, and I can climb stairs pain free. Getting up off the ground and bending over is no longer difficult or painful. I am 64 years old and I’m running again, which isn’t bad coming from someone who never thought I would never run again. I have dropped 2 pant sizes, and I’m starting to fit into a medium shirt. After a year with Laura I feel better, and I have more energy. There is no such thing as too old to start. I want to enjoy my grandkids, and do some more traveling, and hiking when things open up again from covid.”

“Before I started training with Laura, I was gaining weight, frustrated with yo-yo dieting, lacked energy, and the constant pain in my shoulders was debilitating. I had 3 major falls over several months, which left me struggling with simple daily activities such as lifting plates out of the cupboard and getting a shirt over my head. My goals were to fix my shoulder injuries so I could lift and play with my grandbabies, and lose 20 lbs to reduce my risk of developing health issues and to make daily activities easier. Laura was very supportive, patient, and listened to my concerns. She created a program that was specific to me. She helped me break bad habits, and a bad relationship with food. She was very knowledgeable and educated me on nutrition, and helped me build a healthy, balanced lifestyle. Since training with Laura, I have lost 27 lbs. I have gone from wearing an XL to a medium. I haven’t worn a size medium since I was in my 20’s. Better yet, I no longer have pain in my shoulders. I can lift my grandbabies overhead, and get up and down off the floor to play with them. I have more energy to complete day to day activities, and my mood is a lot more positive. My balance has improved significantly. I can now do the full progression of Tree Pose easily, and I haven’t had any falls since starting (knock on wood).Through my fitness journey I have gained confidence in training, and my relationship with food. I am more relaxed at parties, family dinners and holidays. I have the knowledge and tools to navigate these experiences so I can enjoy them at the same time as working towards my lifestyle goals. I can have both now, it is no longer one or the other. Over a year ago I wouldn’t have imagined that I would accomplish all that I have, and I couldn’t have done it without Laura.”

“I cannot believe how strong I have become in such a little amount of time. It’s motivating on its own to see how my increased strength has positively impacted my day to day functioning. I have also seen a big change in my stomach area that running and yoga never fully achieved. Laura’s programming is challenging and creative. I cannot say enough about the changes in body.
